Opal's Gift

By Louis Athanasatos

Opal loves everything about stories: hearing them, imagining them, and telling them best of all. One day she hears the most wonderful story she's ever known, and when she tries to share it, she finds she's forgotten every word.

A gentle way to introduce young children to dementia, written for the moment grandparents and other loved ones begin to forget. Light-hearted and warm, made for parents and teachers to share.
Meet Opal

Hi, I'm Opal!

One day I heard the best story I'd ever heard. When I opened my mouth to tell it, nothing came out, not one word. It scared me at first. But I found out that forgetting can be its own kind of gift, one I get to share with the people I love.
